Question about 'Get Rid of the Logon Screen'

I have a question about Get
Rid of the Logon Screen:
I removed the password login and now when ME boots up it just stops with only the
background showing - no icons, etc. I can boot up in Safe Mode, and the same thing
happens - just Safe Mode in each corner.
How the heck can I do anything about this when there isn't anything to click on?

Try doing Ctrl-Alt-Del when the blank screen appears. It's got a windows blue background,
right?
