I lost the serial number to my sims game. I threw out the case because it got stepped on without thinking. So when the computer crashed & everything was erased I didnt have the serial number to reinstall it. I looked around on the internet found a few that worked. The next problem I got was when it came to 24% installing it would just stop & sit there. It never told me to stick the next disc in but I did & it went up to 95%. Then I got the error message 'tranfer components error.' Again I looked on the internet and found a similiar problem. It said to download directX 9.0 I did figuring that would fix it. Now, it wont even get to the install part. Im getting an error message that says 'The install engine could not be installed (ikernel.exe) A device attached to the system is not functioning.' Someone please help all I want to do is play my game. :'(

Also when the computer first starts up there is an error message. "Cannot find script file "C:\windows\temp\net\netjs". Could this be apart of it or a whole other problem??
