sharing violation in copy and paste

In trying to restore my filing cabinet, I attempted to copy from the hard drive to
my documents. The error message came up that it could not be done due to a sharing
violation, files in use, etc. I am not on a network and do not share computers,
only have one. Is this a software problem perhaps? Thanks.
