Need a Disk

I have a friend who wants to re-install their operating system. The problem is,
they have lost their disk.
Does anyone know where one can purchase a copy of Windows ME cheap? We don't need
a key because we already have one, we just need the software disk. We may be willing
to pay for a new disk with key if it is cheap enough.
Thanks.

XP OPERATING SYSTEM
Better to spend the money on XP Home. And there are plenty of free Linux distros
around.
Mac
WINDOWS SUPPORT RAM

Yes, Mike, if you have to buy new go for the XP Home... you can always configure
it to the Classic Windows look if you find the XP interface offensive (as I do).
Linux is an acquired taste - anything which erodes MS dominance is a good thing,
of course, but if you're conditioned to the MS interface, some of the Linux offerings
can be very non-intuitive and, contrary to what you might have been led to believe,
they are not universally stable and reliable on every machine. I tried running Lindows
on a Compaq Deskpro, and it couldn't be left alone for half an hour without crashing
fatally (could it be that we need an Annoyances site for Linux now???!!!)

OK, if no one among your closer friends has one to copy, you can shop on eBay, and
probably find it at a decent price. But the Win-"ME" version was a loser. Way too
many problems, never fixed. XP-home, like Linux, may have to be an "acquired taste".
I didn't acquire it myself.
Depending on the age of your friend's machine, XP may prove too sluggish, anyway.
I would rather use either Win98se or W2K than WinME, although Win2K also offers
some issues of getting used to it. There is one minor thing in WinME's favor. The
support for Win98se will be expiring next summer, and WinME will be the only "W9x"
still supported.

I think XP would be too "beefy" for this older PC. Linux is out of the question
as my friend can barely operate windows.
Thanks for the idea though.
