Question about 'Get Rid of the Logon Screen'

I have a question about Get
Rid of the Logon Screen:
I would like to annihilate the Windows Logon Screen, but I don't remember my password
for the Windows Logon Screen. Is "all lost"?

Delete the file C:\Windows\userID.PWL and reboot and don't enter
a login ID and then follow the instruction in the link you included.

The file C:\Windows\userID\PWL wasn't on my computer, but I did find a PWL file with
my name, which I deleted. Then, going to regedit.exe, I followed the instructions
in the link, changing the values to 00 00 00 01 in HK_LOCAL_MACHINE>NETWORK>LOGON>LM
LOGON.
The Windows Password Logon Screen still showed up on rebooting. I plan to change
"User Profiles" to "All Users" in Control Panel>Paswords>Password Properties and
see what that will do.

To get rid of the Password Logon screen, you have to first> change the
settings in Control Panel - Network, and change the "Primary Network Logon" to "Windows
Logon" option and then reboot.

I changed the settings in Control Panel>Network to "Windows Logon" and hoped against
hope that this would work, Jack. It didn't. Microsoft says "there's no way their
engineers can retrieve passwords." The appearance during the booting "process" of
the password screen is an inconvenience and one I will keep trying to quash.
