start up options menu everytime

I don't remember when it started or what I may have done to make this happen, but for a while now every single time I start up the computer, even if it's a regular shut down last time I was on it, I get the start up menu that says "normal" "safe mode" something about choosing which drivers to load. It's annoying as heck and I want it gone. thanks for the help

re: Boot Menu - MSDOS.SYS

Sounds sort of normal to me, but then I have my machine set to boot to the Startup Menu most of the time.

First RUN - MSCONFIG and verify that "Normal startup" is selected. If not, try to remember why you changed it.

Next use NotePad to open the hidden system file C:\MSDOS.SYS and look at it. If there is an entry in it that reads BootMenu=1, you need to change it to read BootMenu=0. But of course, this is a hidden, readonly protected system file (or should be), so you need to change its attributes before changing it and then change them back when done.
