You are going to have to learn to setup and use your computer, and that takes time and study. One place to start is by reading through the Articles links on the left frame of this web page. Don't try most of them, but just read through them to get an idea of how to do some of the things suggested.

To use a default user logon to your computer networking (your ONE computer), you can bypass the user logon screen. This is NOT an Internet logon, just a user (for multiple users) logon to the computer so each user can have their own preferences. As you are using the Default logon, there is no need for the logon screen when booting.

Click Start - Setting - Control Panel - Network icon. Then under "Primary Network Logon:" select the "Windows Logon" option and then click OK button. This may require you to reboot the system. By not entering a password and clicking OK at the logon prompt, you should have a default logon and not get the logon message when booting. This is covered in the articles in the left frame, under Networking, "Get rid of the logon screen".

One thing you need to run right now is the Disk CleanUp utility. It will free up a little space on your disk drive. Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk CleanUp. Click OK, and put a check in all of the boxes and then click OK. May take a minute or two the first time you run it.

The error you are getting with Yahoo usually means your system is already infected with Spyware/ADware programs. You have allowed some of them to download because they "sound good" and offer "free something". Just remember, very little is "free" on the Internet as they all come with more ADs to get you to buy something. Even Yahoo is one be AD.

First thing to check for, is to go to the Control Panel again, and click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon. Scroll down the list of installed programs and see if you have the ADware/Spyware installer program already installed by the name of WebSecureAlert. If you do, click on it to select that name and click the Add/Remove button. Then remove it and when done reboot the system. You really don't want this program on your system (often found on your system after using Yahoo) as its main purpose is to download and install more ADware and Spyware type of programs.

You also need to learn how to update your Windows ME at the Microsoft Windows Update site, so that you have all of the Security fixes. Only try downloading and installing one at a time, as some of them are quite large and take a long time if using a Dial-up Internet connection.

You need to learn how to find and remove ADware and Spyware programs yourself and how to protect your system. Only do one thing at a time and try it out to make sure it works OK.

See Windows ME Fixespage for general information on links to safe programs to use and additional information.
