Need to download a file from Microsoft?. How?

I'm running Office 97 and when I pull up a product to work with it, I a get message
that says I need to install a file (VEenLR3.HLP). I tried to lift it off the CD
but the file is empty. Can I get it somewhere else (Microsoft site?)? And if so how
do I install it?
Thanks in advance

A corrupted normal.dot file can sometimes cause that error message. Have
you tried locating the normal.dot file and renaming it to see if that is the problem?

Yep. That is what the normal.dot file is. Should only be one on the system, but
there can sometimes be many of them.
As I said, rename it to something else, reboot and try again and see if it solves
your problem.

I tried it but nothing has change. Not a big deal just the annoying message. Doesn't
affect the program's operation.
Thanks

Not very likely that the following will help, as the normal.dot is usually the
cause 80% of the time, when it just stops working. In most other cases, the file
VEenLR3.HLP is missing because you have upgraded to a newer Windows OFFICE product
that removes the old visual basic support files and replaces them with new ones for
the newer products. So that file may only be the first of several that you need.
In Microsoft Word go to the help menu and then choose detect and repair if you
have that option. If that option exists, you usually have to have the install CD/diskettes
to replace this Visual Basic common file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\VBA\VEenLR3.HLP when it is lost.
If you have tried to re-install the product and you are still getting the error
message, it may be because the default Typical install does not put all of the help
files on the system from the CD. Microsoft
WD97: Cannont Find Veenlr3.hlp
A little searching finds that this file can be downloaded from C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VEenLR3.HLP if you don't have the install
CD.
