Problem Downloading

This is more of a network problem than a Windows ME issue, but here goes: When I'm
downloading files or updates, my system stops in the middle and won't finish downloading.
It may start intermitently, but never finishes. The network is still connected
because I can open a IE browser and continue to surf, just whatever application is
downloading stops. This is happening on my desktop with Windows ME and now on my
laptop with Windows XP. I've got the styem hooked up through a Westell modem and
D-Link router. help

You could take the Router out, and hook the Modem up to each Computer for awhile,
and see what happens. If both computers experience the slow down then call your ISP,
and see if they can help diagnosis if it is a line, or Modem problem. If the problem
is the Router, then you could reset it, and see if the problem goes away. I had some
intermittent problems last month, and I put in my old (known good), but slower wireless
B Router, and the problem went away, put the newer Router back in, and the problem
reoccurred. I updated firmware, no change, reset back to factory Default settings,
no Change. So I put the old Wireless B Router back in, until I get around to buying
another Wireless G Router.
