strange message?

When booting the Windows 98me machine I get the following message : Memory_card on
'Npidc9e7a' (z:)
What does this mean? I don't have any memory card or a Z drive. It seems to happen
intermittently. When it does occur I seem to lose access to my network printer and
I get the the following message: Unable to find network name in folder
Any answers out there?
