Searching for list of my machine capabilities I have found the System Info. Summary...does RAM equal Total Physical Memory? [62.26 MB on this computer]. The list doesn't use the term RAM anywhere. If not where do I find such information before changing to 2k from ME on a incapable computer. thank you theroad

Just right-click on My Computer and select Properties the RAM should be listed
under Computer: at the bottom. This is the size of the installed RAM chips not whats
available.

Yes the System icon in Control Panel will show the same details if it only shows
62.26 MB then you have 64MB which isn't enough for Win2k. It isn't really enough
for Win98. RAM is quite cheap today but make sure you get the same RAM chip speeds.

What is your processor speed?

It depends on what you use a computer for. It also depends on how old your system
is.

"Pentium(r) III processor GenuineIntel-731 Mhz"

Isn't to bad for normal applications. Mine is AMD K6-2 550Mhz, 256MB RAM running
Win98. Mine is 7 years old. You only need a fast processor for modern games.

RAM seems to be your biggest problem but as I've said before you need to get compatable
RAM chips (speed wise). Mine are 100 newer ones are 130 or greater and you can't
mix and match.

What size is your Hard Drive and what Video card are you using?

You could buy add-ons of eBay but I wouldn't buy a system without seeing it and trying
it first.

Modern systems are relatively cheap today. If you are buying a system then the processor
is the most expensive single item. Extra RAM and larger hard drives can be added
later when you have the cash.
