A friend was going to run the video of dancing with the stars and I think it told her to download either real player or windows media player, not sure whether the dancing with the stars was too big or she canceled something in the middle. I am not familiar with Windows Me. Thanks.

Joan, please post a better description of the problem, specifying:

(a) Which program / file you are downloading, and have the problem with.

(b) Also specifying precisely *what* the problem actually is.

(c) State the *exact* wording of any error message that you are seeing.

(d) Give the name of the downloader program you are using, if any.

(e) If the downloader program is your internet browser, state which browser (and
which *version* of that browser) you are using.

(f) Give the internet URL address of the file that you are downloading.

(g) Ask your friend whether she did actually cancel something in the middle, and
if so at what point she cancelled.

And post those details here.

Thank you.

Ed

When my friend went into ABC.com she put her name and password in, then I guess it said something about flashplayer, I assume she went backwards as she did not know what that flashplayer was and when she went backwards on the computer it went into safe mode. She shut it down then turned it back down and it said system is busy so she used ctrl, alt, delete then shut it down. Now she won't touch it!!!! Thanks Joan Newman

Boot to the DOS prompt with a WinME bootdisk from www.bootdisk.com and then type
this command at the C: prompt -

SCANREG /RESTORE

and follow the on screen instructions to restore a previous version of the Windows
registry.
