Yahoo high speed internet

I visited this forum previously under another password. This new one is due to my
forced signing up to Yahoo high speed internet. I say forced because my computer
was hooked up to a
router from my Son`s upstairs computer. He bought a house in the Burbs and took the
router, of
course. I have a question for anyone who may be in the know about this new Yahoo
high speed internet connections. Here is my problem:
My computer locks-up on me very regularly, when
I scroll down. I have to sigh in every time I try to open up Yahoo whenever I am
in my regular blogs
reading or doing something else. I mean I could go
on and on and on. If someone can give me some tips on how to control this Yahoo high
speed thing,
I will appreciate it. I was just activated on this thing three days ago. Thanks,
Elmoticky

You need to contact Yahoo's broadband tech support, your ISP, for any Yahoo specific
problems. This isn't an appropriate topic for a Windows help forum.
However, I can say it's always best Not to install the software provided by ISP's.
It's not necessary to set up a connection, and always installs a lot of extra, unnecessary
junk.
You can try removing all unnecessary startup apps, which would include some added
by Yahoo's software. Remove unnecessary applications from startup. Most programs,
when installed, automatically add themselves to startup. Check the descriptions of
your MSCONFIG startup entries on one of these sites.

I agree on removing the ISP software, and see if you can connect using the internet
connection wizard. If you have ADSL that uses PPPoE, then look for
RASPPPOE on Google. It is a small program that handles the Dialing part. I have
had 3 types of Broadband so far, and have been able to connect without the ISP software
on all of them. Most ISP software is as bad as a Virus.

Thanks, as usual, for your advise. I do not use the
dial-up system, but I will start to remove/delete all
unnecessary installations by my new AT&T high speed internet. In fact, I just uninstalled
a 'messenger" sidebar that opens up everytime I
start my computer. It was a nusuiance really. Thanks again I will keep you guys posted.
