Hi Kathy.
The IE6setup.exe you download from Microsoft is one file about 650Kb in size. Is
this the file that won't work properly? It could be corrupt just download it again.
This file just initialises the setup.
If you are using dialup you need to be connected to the web for about 1 hour to download
and install IE6 SP1. If you use Broadband then its obviously a lot faster.
I use dialup so I only did this once. After install I burnt the install folder to
a CD, so I can run it from there. Even of the CD you still have to connect to the
web for a short period of time just to download some additional files. But it all
installs smoothly.
You could check around your news agents. I know IE6 is dated now but you might see
someone showing it in a magazine.

I don't know whether that setup file will work anymore on a ME system, as it needs
to download from MS site.
IE 5.5 is a good browser, but if you can get a hold of an ISP CD, "any" ISP provided
CD will work.. Don't install the software, but browse the CD and locate IE Setup
folder. It includes the complete setup for IE6. You'd need to config. your CD so
it doesn't Auto run.
Otherwise, if you have a broadband connection, or a friend who has a high speed
connect, ask them to download the full IE setup and burn to CD for you. You can download
it from this site.

Quite frankly you would be much better off if you installed Firefox instead. It's
a vastly more capable browser than IE6 (or IE7 for that matter) with any number of
available add ons and it's free! It's also much more secure than IE against malware
infection.
