got tech support from 800-567-6789 and tech did an online share on my computer. at one point he entered my email address and asked for my password, I refused and he hung up. I did report to Verizon. Now I have this error message: The MOTIVE.EXE file is linked to missing export SBHOOK.DLL?installHookCCYAHKPUHWND_HHHHK@Z I am able to close the dialog box and continue on but this message has me worried. I am a computer novice so if this appears to be a dumb question, well better to ask than not. Thanks!

That seems like a real Verizon Tech number. If you don't trust the ISP Help then you are probably just going to have to live with the problem. If you want to try a fix. You might try just reinstalling the ISP software. Google leads Me to believe the Error is related. Most ISP software does suck, If you have any friends that know their way around a Computer, You might try getting the Computer to connect to the Internet without use of ISP software. Most cases it can be done with the Internet connection Wizard.

Remove Motive SmartBridge from startup, the uninstall it in A/R. It's an application
used for tech support assistance. You can type/paste the name in here for a description...

As for a tech asking for your password?? I can hardly believe they'd go that far.
They'd be terminated if their supervisor, or whoever ever found that out.

If you remember the "tech's" name, call back and report him/her to a supervisor.
