I need some help here. The problem I am having is I keep getting this dialog box
to pop up. BROWSERUI.DLL. I don't know what to do really. It is Windows ME. I
tried to boot to the command prompt and can't really get there. I can't do anything
from control alt delete. I can't do anything from control panels, because when I
click anything the message box pops up.....BROWSERUI.DLL. Please help me figure
this out. I want my computer back. I don't really want to reformat the thing, because
I have somethings I would like to saver, but if not that will be my last result.

What's the exact error message? To get to the command prompt on a ME system, you
need to boot with a startup (boot) disk. Do you have one?

You didn't say what the entire error message is. It may take something like this
to get you back up and running...
Explorer Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Browseui.dll
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/293174
Are you sure it's a startup disk? It sounds like you know what I'm referring to.
It may just be bad, if you've had it sitting around awhile.
I have my doubts a reg restore will help, but it's worth a try...If you were Only
going to try a registry restore, you can use a startup disk from a 98 or another
ME system. You can create one on another machine, or download and image and create
one. Download the ME OEM disk image.
Bootdisk.com
To create a disk: Get a blank floppy diskette, go into Add/Remove programs. Click
Startup Disk tab, then stick the floppy disk in drive and choose Create disk. Then
boot with the startup disk in the floppy drive.
At the A:\> prompt, type: C: scanreg /restore then press Enter. Choose a backup
with the word Started, dated before this happened. Follow the prompts to restore
the backup.
You should get a message that Windows successfully restored the registry. Then CTRL_ALT_DEL
to get back into Windows.
