Cameral Instalation Disc Won't Start

We recently bought a digital camera and inserted the disc to install the programs
to add pics online. The disc will not start. It doesn't even make any sounds like
it's trying to load it or anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you're expecting the disk to AutoRun, maybe it's not meant to. Try it
on another PC in case the disk is knackered, see if it autoruns there.
Can you read any files on the disk?
Might be a case of adding the hardware, booting windows and when windows discovers
the hardware and asks to update/find the driver pointing to the driver program on
the disk.

If the CD should Autorun it should have an Autorun.inf file on the root of the CD.
Open it with NotePad and look at
e.g.
[autorun]
OPEN=SETUP.EXE /AUTORUN
If you copy and paste D:\SETUP.EXE /AUTORUN into the Run: D:\ being your CD
Rom drive. It should do the same function.
Also Autorun could be disabled have a look at Control Panel\System or right-click
on My Compter and select Properties. Click on your CD Rom and select Properties on
the Settings tab you will have a Auto insert notification checkbox make sure
its checked.

You could try a CD Rom lens cleaner just in case its old and needs cleaning.
You only have the one CD Rom?
