I fdisked a gateway 500, it had disk overlay now me will not load correctly, it leaves 
c drive in msdoscompatibility mode, sound does not load, modem does not load, never 
saw anything like this before, have fdisked many times, can i fix this

The PC manufacturer or the HDD manufacturer usually provide the DDO software. If available, it should be found on their website if you don't have it on disk/disc..
