I was attempting to replace Windows Mellinium to Windows XP.....I installed windows xp and it went to drive D. How do I get windows xp off of Drive D. and on to Drive C.?

SWITCHING ME TO XP.....HELP!! I recently tried to replace Windows ME with windows XP. Xp went to a drive with not enough memory, while ME is still there in the other drive. How do I get XP in the correct drive and how do I get rid of Windows ME completely???????

I mean separate hard drives not partitioned drives. If you only have the one then I suggest you use your WinME boot disk with Fdisk on it. Check the boot sequence in the BIOS so it reads the floppy disk first. Start the computer up with the boot disk inserted and at the A: prompt just type Fdisk and remove all existing drives. Restart the computer and type Fdisk again and set the primary DOS partition. If you only want one drive the select Y for the maximum available space. At this point I would format the drive with Format.com of the boot disk. I know WinXP with ask if you want to format to NTFS but the initial format will check the drive for any back sectors first. Then restart the computer and reset the boot sequence in the BIOS to read the CD Rom first. Restart with the WinXP CD inserted and install WinXP.
