Hi, There,
I have an old Toshiba 1800 that has Window ME CD come along with the Laptop.
I reformat the harddrive lately and try to reinstall from the manufacturer CD, I
kept on getting Wrong Machine.
Can anyone advise, how show I go about this ?

Only Toshiba can advise you as to what to do now, and on an old machine, that's unlikely
to happen. You have a mismatch between the install/recovery CD and the BIOS signature,
so there isn't anything you can do at this point except try and determine if the
disc(s)are wrong, or if the BIOS has been modified, (such as having the machine repaired/serviced/motherboard
replaced that would have changed the BIOS signature that the disc will check before
allowing the install)

I suppose the only other possibility might be to buy a Windows ME installation CD
on E B A Y (the full install version, not the upgrade version), and try using that,
instead of the crippled Toshiba installation CD.
