I have a hard disk with five partitions C D E F G with all my data in partition D. When I insert a memory stick the memory files appear as D with all the other letters moved down - D becomes E, E bcomes F and so on. With the CD letters H and I, the USB stick should be J. Hope you can help. Thanks Fred

Assign the memory stick it's own letter. Like T for thumb Drive. It should retain that letter from that time on.

How do we assign drive letters on ME? I've done it on NT but I don't know how to get at it with winME.

Find the Drive in the Device manager. Rt Click on it. Properties, Settings. you should be able to figure out from there.

So I do as you say, click on Removable, watch the Start and End drive letters activate, then enter T and T to follow your Thumb drive example? Am I good ole boy or what! Thanks Steve.
