After installing this used printer and driver on a Dell 4140, instead of printing following text scanning, the following message appears: "Artcopy55 has caused an error in Kernal 32.DLL" along with the suggestion to restart the computer to fix the problem which restarting doesn't. Any suggestions appreciated!

Lexmark doesn't list a Driver for WinMe . You might try Google, you might find a 
link to some 3rd party driver that may work.

I have a Lexmark X73 that was working well until I filled the color ink cartridge. It had done it a couple of times in the past. THis time, the color would not print. THe black works fine. I put in a brand new cartridge (2 actually one a clone and a real Lexmark) and still no printing. When I ran the diagnostic, the black prints, but no color. Any suggestions? Jim

Reinstall the printer software from the Lexmark installation CD.

I have just successfully got my new Lexmark 1200 series USB printer/scanner/fax/OCR to install on Win98SE. If it will install even under Win98 it will install under WinME. Not the same model, but perhaps my experience may nevertheless help.

The trick is to accept all the default settings that the installation software proposes using, and not to alter anything.

Also make sure the printer is connected to the computer's USB port, and that the printer is switched on, before inserting the installation CD in the CD drive.

Also make sure that you reboot on every occasion that the installation program requests that.
