I am simply trying import songs from a CD to my IPOD and I get the above message stating problem importing songs. In Oct 2007 was the last time I tried importing. WIll upgrading to the newest version of Itunes resolve this problem. Please help. Thanks

You need to locate an appropriate forum for help with this, nothing to do with WinMe or any other Windows OS. A Google search for iTunes support forum will lead you to one.

Itunes has never supported anything below Win 2000 Pro.  Supposedly, the installer 
won't even run on Win 9X unless it's hacked IME.  I don't think the later IPOD software 
even supports Win ME anymore either the last I checked.

There are other vendors making software that may fix your issues but you won't find 
that assistance here.  Simple google should bring up a lot of info though..
