I have deleted vmm32.vxd by mistake. I don't have the ME setup cd. Does anyone have a copy of this file or know of a website where I can download it to a floppy? None of my peripherals work..not the cdrom, modem, usb, etc. \

I believe the missing File file is just contains a collection of different *.vxd files your system needs for startup, so everyones is a bit different. I am not sure you can do much, but reinstall Windows.

Unfortunatly Steve is right. It is different on every computer and built when Windows
is installed. To repair, you may have to do a repair install of Windows. Other
procedures will propably be to complicated for any but a VERY experienced user and
you may need the install CD to do it, if the CAB files are not on your hard drive..

This gives you an idea of the complexity of it:

On My old WinME Box, in the C\Windows\Options\Cabs, Folder is a Setup.exe File. Clicking on it starts a Windows ME install, just over the Top of itself. That sometimes can fix minor ME problems. Not sure if it will work, but worth a try if you have no other install CD.
