Hi I have just purchased a new vista laptop and want to transfer all my photo's from my old pc. Excuse my ignorance but is there a way to do this with a direct cable as it is a bit of a chore bit by bit using a pen drive Many thanks in anticipation Howard

You could use a cable but I would have thought that using a pen would be the easy option then you can use the pen for other things. Just WinZip the folders and add the zip file to the pen.
