How can I change the amount of text displayed below desktop icons before they are
cut-off with " ... "?
For example, if I name my shortcut: DOOM2
It is displayed as: DOO...
when it isn't selected. That seems kinda stupid since the " ... " requires more
characters than the "2".

Change horizontal icon spacing in Display Properties.

I don't see an option to change horizontal icon spacing in Display Properties. I'm
using Windows ME. Do you know of a registry key that would do the same thing?

Wow, nice screen capture work, and thanks for the tip. I know "thank you" messages
are frowned on by some, but thanks again.
For anyone else with the same dilemma, it seems that you have to set this value
higher than you might expect (or maybe I just need to reboot). But, at least it
allows you to see more than just the first few letters in an icons caption!
