My idea of an almost perfect OS for the common user would be a hybrid, created from the Linux Kernel, with the User-friendly GUI designed by Microsoft and with support for Win32, Linux, UNIX and Win64 GUI and console applications. Obviously, any popular OS will have malware attacks, specially if users don't learn how to take advantage of the OSes features. It is the case of Windows and Linux users.
