Hi Enkel, Since your asking opinions, heres mine. I work on comps part time for a 
living and most of my customers are either running XP or 98se. I have used all of 
them extensively at one time or another on my own machines. 

The best system there is to date in my opinion is Windows 2000. The XP system is 
based on it and im sure future systems will be too. Its super stable and will give 
you little to no problems. Its also going to be around for a good long time.

Granted, its not all beautified like XP and it doesnt have some features that XP 
has. It will have the same kind of look and feel as your ME does right now. But they 
make programs to spruce up such things if you really want them. I personally dont, 
I disable all that garbage.

I have 3 machines in my home right now sharing a connect two of them have 2000 and 
one has XP home. In my case I have trouble with my XP all the time and in 3 yrs of 
running 2000 on the others. Ive had I think two issues I needed to resolve. Its a 
very stable system. Just my opinion.
