I set AutoUpdates to run at 3:00am, which is always in standby at that time, so updates 
are checked next morning (very quick and doesn't install downloads yet if set not 
to).  The red taskbar icon shows, until other icons used replace it and it gets hidden 
away automatically after a few minutes use.
