Mostly eye candy, DRM, plugging of some security holes (but no doubt introducing 
new ones), and more ads built into apps like Media Player. All these features can 
easily be built into a (3rd party) add-on or XP.

The only useful additions are the ability to move your paging file from a slow hard 
drive to a fast USB stick.

For laptops its mixed standby/hibernation mode may be a good thing, but you'll need 
to buy new hardware to use it.
