I installed the RC2 as an upgrade over RC1 (which was an upgrade over the earlier
version), and it about 1-1-1/2 hours to load. There was subsequent incompatibility
of drivers and hardware that I was later able to resolve.
Afterwards, I did a clean install of RC2, in about 35 minutes, pretty smooth and
runs nice. Unfortunately, a later install of Photoshop-CS did some really goofy
things to the OS and couldn't boot up (at least the Photoshop was the last software
added before the problem). I was able to restore to an earlier point with the RC2
DVD, though, so will try to recreate the problem steps tomorrow (which included several
apps previously loaded and now have to be reloaded).
Though RC2 is running smoothly and boots up faster than earlier versions, IT SEEMS
TO BE A REAL RESOURCE HOG AND APPS INITIALIZE KIND OF SLOW, even with 1 gb ram and
an AMD 2100 chip.
