Install error Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 6:25 pm Windows Vista Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by lakero (1 messages posted) Using RC2 I did a fresh install on a second disk in an XPPro system. It worked fine, so I decided to try an upgrade of the XP disk. Everything went fine until the last step ("Completing upgrade"), which freezed at 58% with the message "Windows installation has encountered an error and cannot continue. Your computer will now restart..." This puts me back at an unchanged XP installation. Several retries yields identical results. Any suggestions as to how to get around this? Is there an install log somewhere that might have more details as to what the problem is? There are presently no replies to this message.
