I think you're going about this wrong. For dual booting, I have been installing
both systems on the same harddrive, but on separate partitions. Since your boot
order, for different harddrives, has to be changed in the bios, or you have to be
using removable drives (and pull out the one not needed), I'm not sure you can succeed
with a dual-booting setup with two drives.
FWIW, though, I am unable to reinstall the second operating system (Vista) from a
backup, when it was on the second partition. So I just prefer to keep the dual boot
mode for testing purposes, but otherwise have separate OS's on separate drives that
I pull out when switching.
