I note that nobody has responded to your inquiry in several days.  I don't use Vista 
(and don't plan to for another year or so) so I personally can't help you with specifics. 
 However, I think you're more likely to get an answer if you post your question on 
a forum specifically devoted to Firefox such as MozillaZine:
