I agree that the problem may well have something to do with the OS. However, I can't
find anything on mozilla.com to indicate that Firefox 2.0 formally supports Vista,
and that might be source of the problem.
Also, you will probably find it hard to get help if you are still using RC1, when
RC2 has supplanted it and the "official" versions of Vista are already on sale (business
editions) or due to be available in January (personal editions). If it actually
is an OS problem, quite possibly it has been fixed in a later release -- and that
might mean that the only way to fix it is to pay for a fully-released copy of Vista.
Otoh, on the Mozillazine forums, you may find some Firefox experts who would be familiar
with the problem and could offer a workaround that would let you continue to use
RC1 for free, if that's what you want to do.
