The computer mags that are hitting the newsstands now are reporting that in-place
upgrades of XP to Vista often display the symptoms you are seeing, very sluggish
operation.

Did you do an in-place upgrade (start the Vista installation from within an XP session)
or a clean installation (start Vista installation from the DVD)?

What is your Vista performance index, and which component is showing as the lowest
rated component?

Did you check for Vista downloads for your motherboard at the MSI pages for your
exact make and model?

Do you have any trouble indicators in Device Manager?
