Correction to my earlier post.
*******The WinRE is the Windows Recovery Environment. It is available on booting
to the DVD by doing the following: Boot to the Vista DVD, when you get the first
window, click on "next" then in the window that says "install now" look toward the
bottom of the window and choose "repair your computer". Once that window stabilizes
click on "next" then"command prompt" Now you are in the WinRE. ************From there
you can run a variety of windows programs, one of which is the Regedit.exe where
you can restore saved registries. You will get the same graphical interface you get
inside windows. So use Regedit within windows Vista (Just click the Start button,
then type "regedit" in the search line just above the Start button) (The Start button
is now refered to as the "Pearl", by the way), to backup your registry as often as
you want. Then use Regedit in the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) on the boot
of the DVD to restore that backed up copy.
