Maybe. But reading the quotes attributed to the MS manager, it's not clear just what MS thinks it's going to accomplish with its Vista DRM technology. On the one hand Marsh says that only "premium content" will be degraded; and then leaves the impression that it will still be better than current DVD quality! So how does that protect content creators? Meanwhile, Vista users will take some kind of performance hit in MS's attempt to "carefully balance the need to provide robust protection." I wouldn't call degraded premium content "robust protection" when it's still better than current DVD quality. So has the elephant labored mightily and brought forth only a mouse? I guess time will tell.
