Your mobo uses a Via 8237 chipset/mass storage controller, so the Silicon Image 3114 
issue does not apply to your situation.

Here's a link to the latest drivers for the Via 8237; if you were not using the latest 
drivers during the Vista installation, there's a chance that could have been the 
problem.

If you feel comfortable working inside the computer, another trick from XP days that 
might still have some life would be to pull out the memory modules, rub the golden 
fingers gently with a pencil eraser, clean off eraser debris, then replace the modules 
in their original slots.

If the inside of the computer is very dusty, you might create problems rather than 
fixing problems by doing the above, so if really dusty, skip it.
