Here's a link to the Blog page for the team at MS that was responsible for creating 
among other things the Windows Photo Gallery.

There's an email link in the top area of the page, send them a message and see if 
they have any answers.

I am thinking that if you can correct the tint by sliding the tint slider off of 
center in one direction or the other, then there could be a registry value that somehow 
got bollixed up and consequently with this goofed up value, Photo Gallery now thinks 
that yellow-y is the default middle-of-the-road setting.
