Windows has a problem shutting down?

Hi all! I have a Windows Vista Home Premium OS and a brand new computer. But whenever I shut down my computer and restart it the next day or whatever, it says "Windows did not shut normally. Would you like to start Windows now?" But I did shut Windows down normally, so what's up?

On a related note, the blasted thing refuses to stay asleep. It wakes back up within minutes! Thanks for your help!
