Reinstalling/repairing broken WMP11? (wont play many files) Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 12:32 pm Windows Vista Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Impfac (14 messages posted) I would like to reinstall/repair WMP11 but cannot figure out how, no matter how much googling I do. Here is the reason: Media Player 11 has been working fine, playing all the files I threw at it. Then, one day (possibly due to installing new nvidia display drivers???), it wont play many video's or ANY mp3's. It says: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." I've tried many codec packs (I remove each one after it fails to help the problem).
