Windows Security Center doesn't see AV, firewall, or anti-spy

Three days ago, the Windows Security Center came up and said there was some security
issues it wanted to notify me about.
The first is that it doesn't think there is any anti-virus software installed. I
am running Norton AV 2007 (Vista build) and have done so for about a month since
I installed Vista.
The second is that it doesn't detect a firewall. Norton comes with one and I have
been using that instead of the Windows Firewall.
Third, it doesn't think there is any anti-spyware installed even though Windows Defender
is installed and running.
There was a Windows Update that was installed the night before this all started and
I did a system restore to the point before that was installed and it didn't fix the
problem. I also uninstalled Norton and reinstalled it, but Windows Security Advisor
still thinks there is no AV software installed.
I tried looking into the registry a little but I didn't see anything that looked
like it caused this to happen.
Any ideas?
