How to NOT delete cookie for Google settings when cleaning up...

I guess this question could have been asked in the XP forum but I have Vista now so I'll ask it here. My homepage is set to Google and I have dressed up it's options to my liking. However, those settings are wiped out each time I run Tools/Internet Options/General/Delete browsing history, cookies, etc. I also use CCleaner but I have found how to tell that program to leave the Google cookies untouched. I run both these programs frequently. Is there any way to tell the first one to leave Google cookies untouched too? Or perhaps I should just use the CCleaner tool but I'm not sure if it gets all the stuff that the IE tool gets.
