Yes, something is wonky with Creative Elements. I used it to keep the current program
for the Open option, but to change to a new one for Edit. I only did this for .jpg
files, but now that you mention it, it also changed .gif, .png, and some others.
I didn't choose this, but it's acceptable to me, so I'm not going to worry about
it.
I didn't even notice the Scope option the first (and so far, only) time I used it,
but I checked it out, and I don't even have the option to change it. The drop-down
box where options might be expected is disabled (grayed out), and a button to the
right of it just tells me which file extensions are involved, with no way of changing
them.
Seems to be a bug in Creative Elements. Fortunately, I can live with things the way
they are. The real question is why does Vista give 2 menu options (Open and Edit)
with no way to make them do different things? Boy, that's an annoyance!
