Lots of annoyances in Windows Explorer

The Vista version of Windows Explorer leaves a lot to be desired. I've used it for 9+ months now and I still believe the XP version is superior. There are so many usability issues that I don't know what Microsoft was thinking of. Worse, they do not provide options (or at least I don't know how) to decide which behavior you want. Here is a list of problems that I've been annoyed at. If you have solutions to them, please reply. In Help > About, it shows up as Microsoft Windows Version 6.0 (Build 6000).
  1. Rename file selects only the basename and does not include the extension. Apparently, there is no option to change this.
  2. Selection is not very clear. I accidentally deleted the entire directory because I thought I had an item selected but instead, I had the directory selected.
  3. Search does not include non-indexed files. Therefore, searching for files in a directory may be misleading if you accidentally have the file or directory non-indexed.
  4. How can I search for a filename and not anything else like file content?
  5. I don't want autosorting to occur for new files created in Windows Explorer.
  6. When copying files, I don't want the files to go to the position of your mouse. The new files should just be appended to the end of the list as in Windows XP. In addition, the files are no longer sorted.
  7. When a file already exists, the Copy dialog is too wordy. It also requires an extra click to "replace all" compared to Windows XP.
  8. There's no icon to move up a directory.
  9. The arrows that show the existence of subdirectories should not disappear if you mouse out of the left-hand side.
  10. Sometimes clicking the bottom section does not bring it to the top and get focus. It does nothing. Bug?
  11. The columns sometimes are messed up. I've gone to directories where it shows only the "Name" and "Size" columns. In other directories, it shows other columns even though I've set it to use the same columns for all directories. Bug?
  12. Click the "Date modified" column. The first click sorts in reverse order. It should sort by putting the most recent item last.
  13. Click the "Size" column. The first click sorts in reverse order and puts the biggest file first. It should put the smallest file first.
  14. I can no longer modify the toolbar and add the icons/actions I want.
