1. This feature is the same in XP as in Vista. Go to FolderOptions, View, and uncheck
"Hide Extensions for Known File Types".
2.Vistas file directory is different. It takes a while to get used too.
3.Search and the indexing service are resource hogs. I personally have no use for
them so I shut them off.
4.Again, search is worthless, besides I know where every single file is at in my
PC.
5.Open Windows Explorer, right click on a blank spot, select "View", and uncheck
"Auto Arrange".
6.Don't recall XP having that function because I always used the mouse to point where
I wanted the files. In addition, you just said you didn't want it to autosort.
7.Yep, that's true.
8.Alt+Up Arrow
9.Matter of opinion. I like it.
10.Possibly, It occasionally does that to me also.
11. Definitely a bug, mine will sometimes change the view.
12.Have the same problem.
13.Have the same problem.
14.I have no problem adding icons to the taskbar. I have twenty or so down there.
Vista is very different than XP. As much so as the difference between XP and Win98.
Also Vista is just as buggy as XP was when it first came out.
It's going to take a while before people get used to the differences. In addition,
it will take Microsoft a while to iron out all of the bugs.......if they do at all.
Hell, XP is still buggy.
