Have tried various font DPIs and display resolutions, but no joy. Turning off align to grid is the only way I can place the icons along the top of the taskbar. This is a new laptop, but it's not a hardware issue - screen is perfect, and I can line up the icons manually. I'm just irked that I have to fiddle with my icons to keep them aligned!
