When I use Windows Explorer to view AVI and DivX files, after about 5 seconds it crashes and has to restart. No error code is given. This happens every single time, even when viewing AVI and DivX files that are in the recycle bin. I was told that the problem occurs when Windows Explorer tries to show a thumbnail preview of video files, and in order to solve the problem I should open the Run dialog (Windows key + r) and type in: regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll Apparently this will disable Windows Explorer from showing thumbnail views of your video files...but when I use that command it tells me that the module shmedia.dll failed to load and could not be found. I have a genuine copy of Vista Home. Alex
