Sure, but by propogating this sort of pre-news news on public forums you unwittingly
encourage the lemmings to install stuff they almost certainly don't need and which
may well (history says) screw up their systems. Look back at the SPI "bulge" in posts
in the XP forum to see what I mean.
Look, I truly don't mean to get heavy about this but any discussion on this topic
ought really to carry a clear health warning eg "Unless you have specific problems
you know SP1 will fix, don't even think of installing it for 6 months after MS say
its ready, and then only if you are sure you need to". After 6 months there may be
enough knowledge "out there" (on forums like this one) to help folk with the problems
it brings.
If this advice were followed for all MS updates the world in general would be a better
place. That includes updates to Operating Systems, but in that case I would extend
the period from 6 months to 2 years :-))))
